Volunteering
The Weavers Guild of MN is very proud to have Volunteering as a hallmark of our organization. Our Guild operates with two paid staff members and dozens of volunteers.
There are endless opportunities for members to volunteer. Our volunteers are comprised of members who are retired and have several hours a month to serve, as well as members who work, have families and have an hour or two a month to give. Every volunteer hour is welcomed and greatly appreciated.
Members who look to volunteer have many areas in which to devote their time and talents. We have several committee positions just waiting for eager members to take part and help to give the Guild direction. Members also volunteer as demonstrators to schools, craft festivals and the Minnesota State Fair, inspiring others to learn our craft and promoting the Guild. Many volunteers help to keep our shop Fiber Source stocked with yarns, books and equipment new and used to benefit our organization. Our exhibitions for the public are planned and installed by volunteers. Our dye garden and perennial gardens are maintained by volunteers. Our monthly newsletter is written, edited and mailed by volunteers. There are many areas for a member to volunteer.
