Next Member Meeting

Join us on September 9 at 7pm for an informational lecture, "Garden Palettes: Exuberant Design from Glorious Gardens ", by nationally known weaver Cameron Taylor Brown.

Join us for a fun hands-on program inspired by gardens.  Cameron will share her yarns and take you on a journey playing with color, texture, balance and pattern.  Bring scissors, tape, a 4" by 12" piece of stiff cardboard and one 5" by 7" file card.

"Color, texture, pattern, balance, proportion - the vocabulary for a well-designed garden is the same as for a composition in fiber. Get excited by photographs of glorious gardens and create the design ideas they inspire. Begin by looking at one garden in particular - the Robert Irwin garden at the Getty Center in Los Angeles - a stunning variety of colors and textures...a sculpture in the form of a garden aspiring to be art."

Cameron Taylor-Brown is featured in WeaveZine. Editor Syne Mitchell interviews Cameron about her approach to color and design and explores Cameron's philosophy about teaching and learning in a recent episode of WeaveCast .

Admission is free. Guests are welcome.

Upcoming Meetings

Member meetings are held on the second Thursday of the month, September through May.  Most meetings feature informational lectures by local and national fiber artists, but other meetings are simply fun-filled times for Guild members to show each other their work.  Social hour begins at 6:30 pm and meetings begin at 7:00 pm. New members are encouraged to attend. Guests are always welcome.
